Primarily focused on collecting and displaying art with a tie to the central Alabama area, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts displays works by artists like Mildred Nungester Wolfe and glass artist Sonja Blomdahl. It also showcases its holdings of 19th and 20th century American paintings, its Old Master prints and its sculptural pieces. Situated on the northern side of Blount Cultural Park, the park also features a lovely Shakespeare Garden and hosts the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
